Gale Cruisers Riverside Caravan Park
Gale Cruisers Caravan Site

Here in the East of England there is an area of inter-connecting lakes where wild-life is abundant, bird watching is unavoidable and holidays are fun.     It's the Norfolk Broads.

You will need to be a member of the Caravan  and   motorhome club   to stay here but we are sure that the membership cost is well worthwhile.

We can usually fit you into the site with at least one river view. The site faces south so that, as long as the sun shines, you can watch the boats or the birds all day, no draughty old hide needed to watch the birds, (even the feathered variety) just enjoy the scene from the comfort of your own caravan and the ducks will share your breakfast!

You'll probably see kingfishers, marsh harriers, herons and barn owls also we have buzzards,  on the marshes alongside the site, often on the site itself (but not the marsh harriers or buzzards ).     Hardley Flood nature reserve is about half a mile along the river bank and is always teeming with birds, you are sure to see something special.

Should you tire of the view, you will not need to travel very far for an incredible variety of attractions. Right in the village there is a small local market.     Also within a few miles there is an an owl sanctuary at fritton  a stately home (Somerleyton Hall
), and of course, the Norfolk Broads. Take a day boat from nearby beccles or if you want to go to stalham or potter heigham you can hire  a day boat from there

Day boat hire from beccles hippersons  a very good bus service runs in loddon. If you are into fishing, there are some pretty good fish here. Catching them is sometimes easy and sometimes incredibly difficult.

Nearby, Norwich (about 20 mins by car) has lots of historical buildings and a fine cathedral, good shopping too. 2 Park and Ride car parks this side of the city if you'd rather not drive into the centre.  Maps available at our information centre.

Head for Great Yarmouth for FUN at the Pleasure Beach - mind you, you won't get me on some of those rides!
